|Stephanie Shepherd joined the Monterey History and Art Association (MHAA) and the Museum of Monterey (MoM) in January, 2012, as the museum’s Education Coordinator. Before working for MHAA and MoM, Stephanie worked as a Program Director and Arts Educator for the City of San Jose (with the San Jose Museum of Art).Stephanie has also worked for the City of Monterey for over 10 years and has specialized in visual arts and cultural programs development, teaching, community center administration, special events, youth art camps, educational workshops, and youth art exhibitions.Stephanie graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Art History and Visual Culture. She is an artist who enjoys working in a variety of mediums from photography to mixed media on canvas. Stephanie has participated in local art fundraisers for cancer research, provided art education outreach to schools, and is also a Museum Volunteer for the City of Monterey’s Museum and Cultural Arts Division. Stephanie is inspired by the young artists who work on carving out their own visual identities in her programs as well as the unique culture and beauty of the Monterey Peninsula.
