12:00-1:30pm
This lively workshop for children ages 7-12 encourages learning about the visual arts as well as historical traditions. It will include a thoughtful gallery discussion to accompany a hands-on art project inspired by the Out of the Vault exhibition, showcasing art and artifacts from the Museum's permanent collection. Kids will use what they have learned through visual observation and a history discussion to cut, paste, and paint their way to creating colorful mixed media works. Kids Create workshops encourage kids to explore a variety of mediums, from paint to charcoal, pencil, pastel, ink, clay, and more. All materials provided!
Space is limited. Reserve your spot now by submitting the form below. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis and requires a $10 fee per child (non-members). We also ask that a registration form is completed for each child. You can submit this form ahead of time to stephanie@montereyhistory.org, or bring it with you to the class/workshop.
The Museum of Monterey gratefully acknowledges ARTMAX for their generous donation of acrylic paints for education programs!
